Panettone Bread Pudding

Panettone bread pudding is a wonderful thing to make with your left-over Panettone Christmas bread. It’s an easy to make, delicious recipe. Pop it in the oven while you’re cooking dinner and you’ll have a yummy, decadent dessert in no time! You can use your own homemade Panettone Bread or a store-bought version.

Prep time: 35 minutes [Prep=15 min; Bake=20 min]
Serves: 3-4 people


  • 1 medium loaf of Panettone, cubed (about 4-5 cups)
  • Homemade Panettone or store-bought
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 to 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg; fresh if you have it
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Preheat oven to 475 F.
Grease a large oven-proof bowl and set aside.
Put cubed bread in a large bowl.
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, sugar, half-and-half, rum, vanilla, and nutmeg.
Pour this mixture over the cubes of bread and combine until bread is moist.
Put the mixture into the greased, oven-proof bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake 15-20 minutes until top is brown and a toothpick comes out of pudding clean.
Serve warm, cold or at room temperature with whipping cream, ice cream or a drizzle of honey if desired.
